Bachelor of Teaching, TCRG - An Coimisium le Rinci Gaelacha - Ireland, CSTD Teachers Certificate (Tap)
Jacqueline Gorjup successfully passed her CLRG Irish Dancing Teacher’s Exam in Melbourne in October 2022.
Jacqueline began dancing in Mackay more than 25 years ago. Her desire to learn multiple styles saw Jacqueline add Irish dancing to her repertoire and a lifelong passion was formed. Jacqueline successfully competed throughout Queensland placing in numerous regional competitions and State Championships.
A move to Cairns reignited Jacqueline's passion and fostered her transition from dancer, to assistant, and now teacher. Her highlights to date are mentoring younger dancers and contributing to their success at competitions from local to state level. Jacqueline has been assistant teacher of Irish Dancing with the City of Cairns Irish Dancers since 2015, and has gained a wealth of knowledge on the current trends in Irish Dancing during that time.
Jacqueline hopes to build local awareness of Irish dancing in the Cairns community where she can utilise her passion to encourage, support and promote the next generation of Cairns dancers.
